Nikos Kokosalakis

Professor Kokosalakis is Honorary Senior Fellow (retired) of the University of Liverpool and research consultant at the Centre for Social Morphology and Social Policy (KEKMOKOP) at Panteion University Athens. He obtained degrees from the universities of Athens and Geneva and Ph.D in sociology (1969) from Liverpool University. He taught various sociology subjects at Liverpool University from 1966-1994 and has lectured in many universities in Europe and the USA as invited Professor and also served as external examiner at the Universities of Oxford, Dublin and Newcastle. He has served as member of the editorial board of various academic Journals and from 1980-1988 as secretary and president of RC 22 of the International Sociological Association. He has extensive research experience at various levels, has participated in many EU research projects and has acted as evaluator for the European Commission and national representative (1998-2006) of the GSRT of the Greek Ministry of Development for the social sciences in DG Research of the European Commission.

He has published four books and contributed chapters to many and over fifty articles in international Journals.
