Maria STRATIGAKI is Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Policy teaching on gender, social policy and gender equality policies. She is Director of the Centre for Gender Studies. She has coordinated European research projects on gender, migration and women’s entrepreneurship. She is scientific coordinator of the project Gender Studies in Social and Political Sciences (www.genderpanteion.gr) and scientific responsible of the European research project GeMIC (Gender, migration and intercultural interaction in the South East Europe) of FP7 (gemic-eu.panteion.gr.panteion.gr). She is author of books and articles on gender and social policy and on the EU gender equality policies. Her latest book is The Gender of Social Policy, (Metaixmio, 2007). She is member of European Research Group MAGE (Marché du travail et genre en Europe) at CNRS (France). She is member of the Board of the Greek League of Women’s Rights since 1999.
