Belén Agrela

Belén Agrela Romero is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Jaén, Spain. She has an MSc degree in Political Sciences and Sociology, a B.A. in Social Work and a PhD in Anthropology and Social Welfare from the University of Granada, Spain. Dr. Agrela is an expert on migrations, gender public policies and social work. She has conducted her research, as visiting research fellow, at the Université du Québec in Montreal (Canada), the University of Aalborg, Denmark (as a Marie Curie Fellow at the Doctoral School for Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research on Interculturalism and Transnationality) and at the University of San Diego, California (Center for Comparative Immigration Studies). She is the coordinator of Women Field of the Observatorio Permanente de la Inmigración at the University of Jaén. Among her recent publications are the following books and papers: co-editor of the book “Mujeres de un solo mundo: globalización y multiculturalismo” (2002) Granada: Feminae; chapter “Nongovermental versus Govermental Actors?
