Antoanela Marta Dumitraşcu

Antoanela Marta Dumitraşcu is a junior lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Letters, “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galaţi, Romania. She completed her PhD dissertation in English linguistics at “University of the West” Timişoara (RO) in November 2009. She enlarged her linguistic, cultural and project-related knowledge thanks to the European Studies courses she attended at “Dunărea de Jos“ University of Galaţi between 2002-2003, to the Senior manager course organized within the Research Management Formation Programme organized by AMCSIT (The Managerial Agency for Scientific Research, Innovation and Technologic Transfer), the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and carried out by the Ministry of Education (December 2006) and to the MA in Translation and Interpretation, the second year being attended at Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori, University of Trieste, Italy. Her research interests, which she has pursued presenting papers in numerous international conferences and submitting them for publication, are: English, Romanian and Italian linguistics, translation and cultural studies. Some of her relevant publications in the above mentioned fields include: “Patterns of Idiomacity in English, Italian and Romanian” (in Journal of Language and Linguistic Studies, volume 3, no.1/ 2007, https://www.jlls.org/current.htm), “Similarities and Dissimilarities between the English, Italian and Romanian Conditional Sentences. Equivalence and Non-Equivalence in Translation” in Mapping the Future: Permanence and Change, Iaşi, 2007, “Anglicisms in Romanian and Italian” in The Circulation of Cultural Models within the European Spaces, Galati, 2006. She is a member of the Research Centre Interface Research of the Original and Translated Text. Cognitive and Communicative Dimensions of the Message and participated in the FP6 project “Society and Lifestyles: towards Enhancing Social Harmonization through Knowledge of Subcultural Communities” where the University “Dunărea de Jos” acted as a partner.
